Brand of the week Ulysse Nardin - willy - 11-06-2014
Founded in 1846 this brand have been making some of the most incredible time pieces known to man , for 165 years . They have supplied
the USA Navy and others with marine chronometers , and have a great international reputation for new thinking and Development in
most fields of watchmaking .
They have made 5 of the greatest and most complicated watches ever . Rolf Schnyder the owner started to Work
together in 1983 with Dr.Ludvig Oechslin to develop a serie of watches that include the Astrolabium Gailei - the Planetarium - TheCopernicus -
and the Tellurium Johannes Kepler . I would need a toilet roll to list the complications and new ideas that were in these watches . The instruction
books were as big as a Bible . And they were the most expensive and most complicated watches ever built at this time . UN started to use
silicon in their watches long before other brands . And this type of thinking about reaching new watch making horizons , is typical of this brand .
Today UN is still producing great watches under new management . Some of the best known are . The Freak
is a 8 day tourbillon carousel that holds several world patents for technology , and an absolute Unique and beautiful watch to my eyes.
The San Marco - Maxi Marine - Michelangelo - and Sonate are amongst their other most well known watches . What many do not know
is that they also make some of the most erotic , even pornographic watches . These watches are simply works of art that have to be
seen to be believed . Many are made to special order .
They do build their own inhouse calibers . But in many of their low priced watches have used
rebuilt ETA calibers . Indeed maybe the only brand besides IWC that modify ETA calibers to such an extent , that they can put their
own name on them , and call them inhouse . They like many other brands do not keep close to the new price very long . So expect
a big write off if you buy a new one . But as a used buy they are nothing short of fantastic value . So if you want something different
to the usual Rolex - Omega- Patek- AP . Look at a UN , because none of these brands make a watch like the Freak

Jeg besøgte denne fantastiske fabrik for 3 år siden. Gennem en kollega ansat hos Audemars Piguit blev jeg introduseret for bl. a. Ulysse Nardin i
Le Locle. Den model du henviser til er så vidt jeg kan se en Freak Blue Phantom og i min prisliste fra 2010 koster det 89.000,- CHF små 550.000,-
men så er det selvfølgelig også hvidguld.

Jeg er vild med de forskellige "lag" selv i de simple og ikke in-house værk modeller.
Har leget lidt med macro objektiv til iphone, og jeg er positivt overrasket
