Eterna was the first to apply the ballbearing rotor and also the bidirectional winding with virtually no inertia. This last Eterna specific generation from 1975 was eccept the ball bearing already equivalent to the ETA 2892, which is even today still regarded as very thin. As the Eterna movement has a bigger diameter, it has space for a heavy rotor weight, and not the moderate winding efficiency known from the ETA 2892.
