to compare seiko to swiss is difficult .they have been up to now two different markets.but in recent years seiko have seen the growth of the prestige mechanical market.and now they want a piece of it.a bit like toyoto with lexus,and that did not go to badly did it?they have money and the resources to build the most complicated wristwatch ever,if they so wish.they like timex are putting a lot of money into the higher end mechanical watch market.i do not know if they will succeed,but you cannot dismiss them .timex just paid for the help of one of the fine independant swiss specialist vincent berard for their new series.money really helps.if anyone is foolish enough to believe that handwork was invented by the swiss.they do not know much about japan.citizen make a quartz watch called the campanola,the guy who hand polishes the dials,and i do mean he uses his hands.he has no fingerprints he has worn them away.these watches are collected all over the world today.i myself prefer swiss or german makers with lots of history.but i sure as hell respect the japanese ,they have history.think what they were making when we were living in caves.willy the angry
