Very intresting reading . If i remember Walt did praise the Rolex for its accuracy . But many others said his review was biased and unfair . As always the truth is maybe somewhere in between . The idea with the review was to try to convince Rolex fanatics that they do not own a great piece of Swiss watchmaking art . And even if it was unfair it worked to some extent .
Quoting watch experts is always a risk . You or i or anyone else cannot be 100% sure of the motives for writing a negative or positive review . I take them all with a grain of salt .
But in debating watches we all use them right or wrong . My opinion is that it is a good thing to read as many as possible , and make up your own mind .
To many people on watch sites debate watches with a almost religious undertone . Especially when it is a brand or watch they love , that comes up in the debate .
Indeed many take it so seriously that they develop a dislike or even hate for other people who have opinions they do not agree with . These types need help and should not be taken to seriously , something to do with their childhood i think <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->
There are no real experts that are always right in this world . In the end we have to make up our own minds about who to believe . I always liked reading Walt but this interview tells me something about him i did not know .
Its a bit like goverments opening the archives 50 years after the war , and telling you the real reason for fighting it . Willy
