I take my hat of to them for trying to do something different . But the new prices do not reflect the true worth of the watches . I know they are not alone in this aspect , Hublot are a brand amongst others that fit this catagory . Great brands have been using out of house calibers for about 100 years , AP- Patek-IWC etc etc . These brands modify improve and finish these out of house calibers and sell them as inhouse . The big difference between a brand like LW and true watchmaking brands is that they just order the finished calibers from others and put them into a design case . Not really so difficult if you think about it . There are many Brands doing this today . The quality of these watches can be excellent , and the finishing standard can be high .

Imagine you buy a caliber from Lang or Patek and put it into a LW . Even if LW finished the case of the watch to an incredible degree . These watches would never achieve more than being sold for a very high price from new . LW are not watchmakers they are watch builders .

But everyone must start somewhere you say . Well why did they not do the same as a brand like Nomos who build their own calibers and sell their watches for a fraction of the price of LW ? If they ever want to be more than just a design watch , they should employ some watchmakers and develop a caliber .

I do not care if they are Danish or Chinese . They are trying to sell people mutton dressed up as Lamb . One thing i will say about LW is that they have a good marketing department . They really know how to move in the right circles , and create intrest on various watch sites . But lets face it when did you last read a critical watch site ? They are getting rare because watch brands have created a old boys network . And they own so many sites now its beyond a joke .

My opinion is that LW tried to do something new with the click on watch instrument , and then run out of ideas . Hublot were i think the real inspiration for LW , on how to make loads of money by using design as the main element in a high priced watch .

I might buy a LW one day who knows . I like the designs of a couple of their models . But i would never ever buy a new one or a used one at compairable price to say a Rolex or Omega model . You really have to ask yourself what you are getting when you buy a watch like the LW from new ? My answer is you get screwed
