It sounds like you learned a few truths about High end watches.Getting it from the horses mouth,as they say.I for one am very pleased to see people like Philippe Dufour giving opinions on the quality of watches.The Hodinkee team lost my respect a few years ago.BC used to be a really hard critic years ago.But today you never hear him slamming a bad watch.He like others became to involved with the people who sell watches.But Hodinkee still do a lot for the watch nerds,with their news from the industry.I would really like to read one day about Phillipe Dufours opinions on watches that are not high end.As you have no doubt learned,the watches that are interesting for very very well heeled customers,are in a price class that makes them unavaliable to 99% of watch nerds.I just wish some of these people would climb off the high pedestal,and cater more for the watches we actually buy and use.Imagine PD disecting a AP royal oak - Rolex-IWC-JLC.All the bread and butter watches these brands make,that would be interesting for many.
