Gerald Genta og Omega

Jeg har fået et første svar/kommentar til artiklen om Genta og Constellation. Det er ikke den helt store klarhed, dog mener jeg man kan slå fast at Genta ikke stod for selve skive designet til PiePan.

Jeg har sat hans svar/kommentarer til artiklen om Genta og mit spørgsmål om Constellation herunder - og har så nu spurgt John D - helt som jeg spørger jer - VAR REF 14900 I EN SPECIEL NY KASSE med de der knæk lugs som jeg kalder dem - eller var der ikke andre ref med helt samme kasse FØR 14900. Jeg er sikker på nogen her ved det uden jeg skal søge rundt, men jeg mener det, og jeg har som nævnt også prøvet samme spørgsmål til min "ven" hos Omega som tidl var så hjælpsom også med 321 spørgsmålet

Dear John,
Basically, Gérald Genta was known as the «father» of the "Polaris" ( see « Journey through time » page 302) -
We have no official information about his participation of creating "Constellation" models, except that he was working in Geneva, probably early 60's and only for few months, in our special production workshop and under the direction of Pierre Moinat.
This would fit with the creation of the watch cases for reference 14900 (early 1962) changed then to a new reference as "167.005" (chronometer - non calendar - 1963) and also for ref. 168.005 (chronometer-calendar -1965) - the cases of such watches were all having the same famous "Olympic angled case lugs"
Therefore, and if you would have the "source" of other official assumptions about the participation of Gérald Genta (perhaps contact him directly in Geneva)in creating some models for "OMEGA", we would appreciate to know about it. This would then allow us to include your information in our archives.
