The huge world growth of people who have the means to buy a Rolex is the
cause of the demand for them.Rolex cannot produce enough sport models to
meet this demand at this time.I can see this continuing for many years to come.
The long term problem can be that because of the inflated prices people will
change to other brands,and Rolex could eventually lose some of the magic
that as always been associated with them.Marketing is a funny thing,and there
are brands out there,that could make models that capture the hearts of the
watch buying public.
                              Rolex are not Patek or Lange.We are talking about basic
caliber sports watches here,without any high end finishing at all.And lets face
it,their basic designs are very very old.Just look at the price of the Batman!
Its crazy that people will pay this kind of money for a basic sports watch,
when you look what you could buy for the same money.I personally now own
one Rolex,and i intend to keep it.But it will be the last one i buy,for the future.
There are still thousands of used Rolex sports watches for sale out there,even
if many of them have inflated prices right now.This could change overnight if
we get a economic world recession.Prices would begin to fall and once again
we will be able to buy one at a fair price.
                            So if there is one lesson to learn from all of this,it is never
 buy watches in a grossly inflated market.Rolex have always been a very wise
brand,who put longevity at the top of their priority list.I am sure they know
these prices will not last forever.They will i think in the future produce more
sports models,because demand keeps growing.But they will never produce
enough to meet demand.This will all come to a end sooner than later,and
Rolex prices will be back to normal in my humble opinion.So wait is the
word that comes to my mind if you want a Rolex.
